The Parent/Toddler Program at Newport Coast Preschool is designed as a “mini” preschool session. It is a time for you and your child to interact together. This class gives the children a chance to be introduced to the fundamentals of what preschool is all about. This is also a great opprtunity for children to become familiar with the preschool, which helps alleviate separation anxiety when they begin attending on their own. It is through the Parent/Toddler Program that children learn the social skills necessary to make them successful preschoolers.
A majority of the class is free choice. Different learning centers are set up for the children to play and explore. Some of the activities will be “messy” so you and your child should dress appropriately. Because this is a Parent/Toddler class we ask that you stay focused and involved with your child. The Parent/Toddler teachers are merely there to set up the environment and help facilitate it. They are not responsible for your children.
Within the program there is also a group time, which lasts approximately 10-15 minutes. The teacher may choose to facilitate a music and movement activity, story time or a fun game. Following the group time there will be a snack time and then outside for some more fun activities…painting, art, climbers, water play, sand play, etc. The Program will then close with another short circle time.
Newport Coast Child Development Preschool offers the Parent/Toddler Program to help children and parents get acquainted with the preschool environment. Our approach to this program is to have a safe, secure and caring place for children to play within a preschool setting.
Children must be between the ages 18 months to 30 months on the first day of class.
Each child must have a physician’s report filled out by the child’s pediatrician, and parents must have TB clearance from a physician before they can start the program.
The Registration Fee for Parent/Toddler is $25 per session.
Summer Session is eight (8) weeks, and coincides with the preschool's Summer School Schedule. It is held on Mondays or Wednesdays (time TBD). Summer Parent/Toddler Tuition is $300.00 due on June 1st and is non-refundable after June 1st.
Fall Session is 12 weeks and usually begins mid-September (please refer to the Annual Calendar for exact dates). It is held on Mondays or Wednesdays from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. Fall Parent/Toddler Tuition is due by September 1st and is non-refundable after September 1st.
Spring Session is 12 weeks and usually begins mid-February (please refer to the Annual Calendar for exact dates). It is held on Mondays or Wednesdays from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. Spring Parent/Toddler Tuition is due by February 1st and is non-refundable after February 1st.

The Registration Fee is due at the time of registration. Tuition is due on the first of the month that the session begins.
Priority registration status is earned by those students who are enrolled in at least one Parent/Toddler Session. Registration for those students will immediately follow currently enrolled and alumni family registration. Newport Coast Preschool guarantees enrollment for all returning Parent/Toddler students, but cannot guarantee enrollment into any specific preschool class (i.e. a morning program). If a child does not attend at least half of the classes in their session, priority status will be dropped.
Registration for Summer, Fall and Spring Parent/Toddler Sessions is held during the preschool registration periods in January (for Currently Enrolled and Alumni Families) and February (for New Families). Please refer to the Calendar for exact dates.
